The early part of this “painter’s” life was spent not doing art, but establishing a career with a creative element. It was an epiphany of sorts that led me back to my training, and my passion – making sense, artistically, of what I knew, what I saw, what I felt.
With a BA at University of Cincinnati, School of Design, Art, and Architecture, I ignored what was that one seed of creativity dancing around at that time – and moved into a career in Marketing Consulting. It offered stability, but not what I had dreamed -
A fervent dedication to something creative and, at times, startling.
Fortunately, opportunity and desire drove me back to my first love – and I fell privileged to be able to work on my craft on a daily basis. With many years spent in workshops both in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and South Carolina, I renewed my path towards my passion.
Training under experts like Katie Lee, Charles Reed, Bethanne Cople, and Kevin Fitzgerald, I had the magnificent good fortune to meet, and work with Rob Vander Zee.
As I continue to develop my skills and style, the Vander Zee Foundation, and especially the Vander Zee Gallery Painters contribute mightily to my world.
With juried shows both in Rhode Island (RSDI), Cape Cod, Alexandria VA. and now the SouthCoast Studio Tour and Show, I hope to share my passion and talents with an audience inclined to appreciate a visual narrative on life.
