I was born in Hampshire, England.
I attended Portsmouth College of Art and Design, England, followed by a career in the visual fashion industry.
After coming to America I spent many years working in the antiques buisness, fine furniture, traditional and modern art, porcelains and wonderful settings all related to interior design, rich silks and velvets, mahogany and ebony, ivory and tortoiseshell, tapestry and needlepoints, fabulous color combinations, all of great visual richness.
2004 was a pivotal year and I found I turned towards color, paint and creativity as a way to overcome personal loss, and the visual creativity of the past came together with the practical application of the paint and that led me to a great adventure – ART.
My first lesson was with Rob Vander Zee in 2005. Since then I have studied with various other teachers at The Art League, Alexandria, Corcoran College of Art, and Cambridge University England, Art History Programs in 2007 and 2008. I continue classes with Rob Vander Zee at The Vander Zee School of Painting.
I have displayed and sold art works locally.
I am influenced by the richness of color experienced in my life leading up to this point and strive to get that richness in my paintings.
