Sheila Finnerty’s passion for flowers, the sea, the landscape and charming structures has awakened her lifelong desire to paint. She has taken a variety of classes in drawing and art over the years. In 2002 she began painting at the Art League in Alexandria, where she met Rob Vander Zee. Recognizing a unique opportunity to learn from such a brilliant painter, she continues to study and grow under Rob’s instruction.
With a Bachelors in Nursing from Georgetown and a Master’s in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University, Sheila is a practicing psychotherapist in Fairfax,Va. She uses her creativity to draw on a myriad of theories and modalities to help her clients solve their problems. So too, she uses her creativity to express the beauty of the world around her on canvas.
